English Name: Raspberry Leaves Tea

French Name: Thé de Feuilles de Framboisier

Also Known As: Red Raspberry Leaf Tea, Rubus Tea, Raspberry Herbal Tea, Raspberry Leaf Infusion

Part Used: Leaves of Rubus idaeus

Description: Raspberry Leaves Tea, a loose-leaf herbal infusion, is made from the dried leaves of Rubus idaeus, a deciduous shrub native to Europe and northern Asia, and widely cultivated in North America. The plant typically grows to a height of 1.5 to 2.5 meters with slender, arching stems and pinnate leaves composed of three to five serrated leaflets. Raspberry plants are perennial, producing new stems, or canes, each year from the rootstock, with leaves harvested from the second-year canes for optimal quality. Leaf harvesting usually occurs in late spring through summer, when the leaves are fully developed, tender, and aromatic. Raspberry plants flower in early summer and bear fruit later in the season, but the leaves remain a key part of herbal tea production.

After collecting, the raspberry leaves are carefully cleaned and gently dried under controlled conditions to retain their natural green color, aroma, and subtle flavor. The leaves may be left whole or cut into pieces suitable for brewing. Processing is minimal to preserve the delicate flavor of the leaves. When brewed, Raspberry Leaves Tea produces a light green to golden infusion with a mild, vegetal aroma and a smooth, slightly earthy and refreshing flavor. The tea is naturally gentle and soothing, suitable for frequent enjoyment.

Uses: Raspberry Leaves Tea can be enjoyed both hot and cold, depending on preference. For a hot infusion, add one teaspoon of dried leaves to one cup of hot water and steep for 5 to 10 minutes, adjusting steeping time to taste. To make iced tea, brew a stronger infusion, allow it to cool, and serve over ice. Raspberry leaves can also be cold brewed in the refrigerator for several hours, creating a smooth, refreshing herbal drink with a naturally mild flavor.

Raspberry Leaves Tea pairs well with other herbs such as mint, chamomile, lemon balm, or hibiscus, which enhance aroma and flavor while maintaining the tea’s gentle profile. Light sweeteners like honey or agave may be added without overpowering the natural taste. The brewed infusion can also be used as a base for herbal blends or in culinary applications where a delicate, vegetal note is desired. Its mild, smooth character and subtle aroma make it suitable for daily consumption, relaxing tea rituals, or as a gentle complement in herbal tea collections.

Storage: In a cool, dry space, sealed against the elements as much as possible.
