Description: Hibiscus, also called Roselle, is a tropical annual shrub native to West Africa and widely cultivated in Egypt and other warm regions. The plant grows 1–2 metres tall with slender stems and lance-shaped green leaves. It produces bright red, fleshy calyces that surround small flowers, which are harvested when fully mature to preserve their natural colour, shape, and firm, slightly fleshy texture. The flowers are typically 2–3 cm long and retain their distinctive form when dried, giving them a visually striking appearance.

The calyces of Hibiscus are thick, slightly ribbed, and flexible, growing in clusters along the stems. They maintain their bright red colour and natural structure through careful harvesting and drying. The whole flowers are easily identifiable and retain their botanical character, making them suitable for decorative, culinary, and blending purposes. Their natural form allows them to be used in applications where intact flowers are desired.

After harvesting, the flowers are cleaned to remove stems, debris, and dust. They are then dried using controlled low-temperature methods to preserve colour, texture, and form. The dried flowers are sorted to remove broken or damaged pieces, resulting in a clean, free flowing botanical ingredient that stores well and blends evenly with other botanicals.

Uses: Whole Hibiscus Flowers are used in tea-style infusions, herbal and botanical blends, beverage bases, culinary recipes, natural colouring projects, craft work, decorative displays, cosmetic formulations, and educational herb collections. Their vibrant colour, firm texture, and intact form make them suitable for infusions, floral arrangements, potpourri-style products, and creative applications where the natural appearance and botanical authenticity of the flower are important.

Storage: Store in a cool, dry, dark place in an airtight container. Refrigeration not required.
