Botanical Name: Beta Vulgaris

Country of Origin: Poland

Also Known As: Beta vulgaris Root Powder, Red Beet Powder

Part Used: Root of Beta vulgaris, dried and finely milled

Description: Beet Root Powder is made from the roots of Beta vulgaris, a widely cultivated vegetable grown in temperate regions. The roots are harvested when mature, cleaned to remove soil, and trimmed to retain only the edible root portion. Known for their naturally deep red to purple pigmentation, the dried and milled roots produce a fine powder with a rich, uniform colour that reflects the plant’s characteristic appearance.

Processing begins with washing and preparing the fresh roots, followed by slicing to allow even drying. The slices are dried using controlled warm-air methods to reduce moisture while maintaining natural colour. Once fully dried, the material is ground into a consistent powder and sifted to remove coarse particles. No additives, colour enhancers, or fillers are used, resulting in a product composed solely of dried beet root.

Uses: Beet Root Powder is commonly used in culinary applications for its vibrant colour and mild earthy flavour. It can be incorporated into smoothies, beverage mixes, baked goods, sauces, confectionery items, and savoury recipes where natural red colouring or subtle beet notes are desired.

The powder also serves as a plant-based colourant in crafting, soap making, and cosmetic formulations, offering deep red tones for various creative projects.

Storage: Store in a cool, dry, dark place in an airtight container. Refrigeration not required.
