Description: The entire plant produces a sap, or latex, which is commonly used topically. The dried herb, rich in a range of sesquiterpene lactones and coumarins, is brewed into tea. While this plant is sometimes referred to as Lettuce Opium, the cultivated variant of this herb does not contain the narcotic components present in related species. Cosmetic: Potent infusions serve as a topical antiseptic wash. Culinary: Incorporate in tea blends. The dried herb can also be tinctured or encapsulated.
