Description: Reishi Mushroom Powder is produced from the fruiting body of Ganoderma lucidum, a woody polypore mushroom belonging to the Ganodermataceae family. This mushroom grows naturally on decaying hardwood trees in temperate and subtropical regions, including parts of Asia, Europe, and North America. The fruiting body develops as a shelf-like structure with a smooth, lacquered surface and a firm, fibrous interior, typically appearing during warm and humid growing seasons.
The fully grown mushroom is characterised by its kidney-shaped or fan-shaped cap, displaying shades of reddish-brown, deep orange, and dark maroon with a glossy finish. Harvesting is carried out once the fruiting body has fully matured and reached optimal size and thickness. Only mature specimens with intact caps and dense internal structure are collected to ensure uniformity in appearance and texture.
After collecting, the mushrooms are gently cleaned to remove natural debris and woody fragments. They are then dried using controlled low-temperature or air-drying methods to reduce moisture while preserving colour and structural integrity. Once fully dried, the mushrooms are finely milled into a uniform powder, resulting in a smooth texture with a rich brown colour.
The finished Reishi Mushroom Powder is fine, free-flowing, and visually consistent, with a natural earthy aroma characteristic of dried mushrooms. The powder format allows for easy blending and precise measurement, making it suitable for a wide range of formulation and manufacturing applications while retaining the distinct identity of Ganoderma lucidum.
Uses: Reishi Mushroom Powder is commonly used in tea-style infusions, beverage mixes, and culinary formulations where powdered mushroom ingredients are required. It is incorporated into cosmetic and personal care products such as soaps, masks, and scrubs for texture and formulation purposes. The powder is also suitable for educational mushroom collections, craft projects, research reference materials, and manufacturing applications that utilise finely milled botanical and fungal powders.
Storage: Store in a cool, dry, dark place in an airtight container. Refrigeration not required.
