Botanical Name: Rubus idaeus

Country of Origin: Ukraine

English Name: Raspberry Powder

French Name: Poudre de Framboise

Also Known As: Red Raspberry Powder, Raspberry Fruit Powder, Rubus Raspberry Powder, Dried Raspberry Powder

Part Used: Fruit of the plant, Rubus idaeus

Description: Raspberry Powder is produced from the fully ripened fruit of Rubus idaeus, a perennial shrub belonging to the Rosaceae family. Raspberry plants are native to Europe and northern Asia and are widely cultivated in temperate regions of North America and Europe. The shrubs grow with arching canes covered in fine thorns, bearing compound green leaves and small white flowers that appear in spring, followed by fruit development in early to mid-summer.

The raspberry fruit develops as a soft, clustered berry composed of many small drupelets, each contributing to the fruit’s rounded structure and vibrant red color. Harvesting takes place during peak ripening season when the berries reach their full color, size, and natural aroma. Only fully grown fruits are selected to ensure consistent color intensity, natural appearance, and uniformity prior to processing.

After collecting, the raspberries are thoroughly cleaned and dried using controlled low-temperature methods to reduce moisture while preserving the fruit’s natural characteristics. Once fully dried, the fruit is finely milled into a smooth powder. The resulting powder displays a rich red to deep pink hue, reflecting the natural pigmentation of ripe raspberries, with a fine, free-flowing texture.

Raspberry Powder has a light, soft consistency that blends easily into dry and liquid formulations. Its appearance remains visually uniform, with no visible clumping when properly stored. The powder form of product offers stability and ease of handling while retaining the distinctive identity of raspberry fruit, making it suitable for a wide range of applications.

Uses: Raspberry Powder is widely used as a natural coloring and flavoring ingredient in culinary applications such as baked goods, confectionery, dessert mixes, beverages, and specialty food formulations. It is also incorporated into cosmetic and personal care products including soaps, face masks, scrubs, and bath blends for its natural color contribution. Additionally, Raspberry Powder is used in crafting, decorative food presentation, educational projects, and product development where fruit-based powders are valued for their visual appeal and consistency.

Storage: Store in a cool, dry, dark place in an airtight container. Refrigeration not required.
