Botanical Name: Cymbopogon citratus

Country of Origin: Egypt

English Name: Lemongrass C/S

French Name: Citronnelle Coupée et Tamisée

Also Known As: Dried Lemongrass, Lemongrass Cut & Sifted, Cymbopogon Leaves C/S, Lemongrass Herb

Part Used: Leaves and stalks of Cymbopogon citratus

Description: Lemongrass is a tall, perennial grass native to tropical Asia, commonly growing 1–2 metres tall with long, slender, bright green leaves and fibrous stalks. The plant produces small, inconspicuous flowers along the upper stems. The aerial parts are harvested when fully mature to retain their natural colour, texture, and aromatic profile.

The leaves and tender stalks have a firm texture and a fresh, lemon-like scent. Once dried, the plant material retains its greenish hue and identifiable structure. The cut and sifted pieces maintain visible leaf and stem fragments, providing a uniform, free-flowing botanical ingredient suitable for blending and storage.

After harvesting, the leaves and stalks are cleaned to remove soil, debris, and extraneous material. They are then dried using controlled low-temperature methods to preserve colour, texture, and aroma. Once fully dried, the plant material is cut and sifted to remove fines and broken fragments, resulting in a clean, consistent ingredient ready for multiple applications.

Uses: Lemongrass C/S is used in tea-style infusions, herbal and botanical blends, culinary recipes, craft projects, cosmetic formulations, decorative displays, and educational herb collections. Its aromatic leaves and uniform cut pieces make it ideal for blending into herbal mixtures, infused preparations, and creative applications where natural fragrance and botanical authenticity are desired.

Storage: Store in a cool, dry, dark place in an airtight container. Refrigeration not required.
