Description: Pomegranate Peel C/S is prepared from the outer rind of Punica granatum, a small deciduous tree or shrub belonging to the Lythraceae family. The pomegranate plant is native to regions of the Middle East and South Asia and is widely cultivated in warm, dry climates. The tree produces glossy green leaves, vibrant red-orange flowers, and round fruits with a thick, leathery outer peel. The fruit matures during late summer to autumn, at which time the peel develops its characteristic deep red to reddish-brown colour and firm structure.
The peels are harvested after the fruit has fully ripened and the edible portions have been separated. At this stage, the peel is dense, slightly curved, and tough, with a textured outer surface and pale inner layer. Harvesting focuses on collecting clean, intact peel sections that maintain their natural thickness and colour. This ensures the dried material retains a consistent appearance and structural strength.
Following collection, the peels are thoroughly cleaned to remove residual pulp and natural debris. They are then dried using controlled air or low-temperature drying methods to stabilise moisture levels while preserving colour and rigidity. Once dried, the peels are cut and sifted into uniform pieces. The finished cut peel displays a range of reddish-brown to dark brown tones with a firm, slightly brittle texture.
Pomegranate Peel C/S offers visually distinct, free-flowing pieces that maintain the natural curvature and layered structure of the original fruit rind. The form of product allows for ease of blending, accurate portioning, and consistent presentation. The material remains stable during storage and handling, making it suitable for both formulation and decorative uses where botanical authenticity is important.
Uses: Pomegranate Peel C/S is commonly used in tea-style infusions, botanical blends, and specialty beverage formulations. It is suitable for use in cosmetic and personal care applications such as soaps, scrubs, and bath products. The cut peel is also used in natural colouring projects, craft applications, and decorative botanical displays. Additionally, it is appropriate for educational collections and manufacturing processes that require durable, visually identifiable dried fruit materials.
Storage: Store in a cool, dry, dark place in an airtight container. Refrigeration not required.
