Description: Milk Thistle is an annual or biennial herb native to the Mediterranean region, commonly growing 60–150 cm tall with thick, spiny stems and large lobed leaves with distinctive white marbling. The plant produces large purple thistle flowers during summer, and the aerial parts are harvested at peak growth to retain their natural colour, texture, and botanical character.
The leaves are thick, firm, and slightly spiny along the edges, with a mild earthy aroma. Once dried, the leaves and flowering tops maintain their structural integrity, colour, and identifiable shape. Cutting and sifting the dried herb produces uniform pieces with visible leaf and stem fragments, suitable for blending and storage while preserving botanical authenticity.
After harvesting, the aerial parts are carefully cleaned to remove debris, dust, and excess stems. They are then dried using controlled low-temperature methods to preserve natural colour, texture, and characteristics. Once fully dried, the herb is cut and sifted to remove fines and broken fragments, resulting in a clean, free-flowing botanical ingredient.
Uses: Milk Thistle Herb C/S is used in tea-style infusions, herbal and botanical blends, culinary preparations, craft projects, cosmetic formulations, decorative displays, and educational herb collections. Its uniform cut pieces of leaves and flowers make it suitable for blending into mixtures, infused preparations, and creative applications where natural leaf and floral appearance and botanical authenticity are desired.
Storage: Store in a cool, dry, dark place in an airtight container. Refrigeration not required.
