Botanical Name: Filipendula ulmaria

Country of Origin: Poland

English Name: Meadowsweet Herb C/S

French Name: Reine-des-Prés Coupée et Tamisée

Also Known As: Cut Meadowsweet Herb, Dried Meadowsweet, Filipendula Herb C/S, Meadowsweet Leaves and Flowers

Part Used: Aerial parts (leaves and flowering tops) of Filipendula ulmaria

Description: Meadowsweet is a perennial herb native to Europe and western Asia, commonly found in damp meadows, riverbanks, and wet pastures. The plant typically grows 60–120 cm tall with upright stems, pinnate green leaves, and clusters of small, creamy-white flowers that bloom from early to late summer. The herb is harvested during peak flowering to retain the natural colour, fragrance, and botanical character of both leaves and flowering tops.

The leaves are soft with finely serrated edges, and the flower clusters are delicate with multiple tiny blossoms. After drying, the herb retains its light green leaves and creamy-white flowers, preserving the natural texture and structure. The cut and sifted preparation produces uniform pieces of leaves and flowers with visible stems, making it suitable for blending and storage while maintaining botanical integrity.

After harvesting, the aerial parts are cleaned to remove debris, dust, and excess stems. They are then dried using controlled low-temperature methods to preserve colour, texture, and natural characteristics. Once fully dried, the material is cut and sifted to remove fines and broken fragments, resulting in a clean, free-flowing botanical ingredient.

Uses: Meadowsweet Herb C/S is used in tea-style infusions, herbal and botanical blends, culinary preparations, craft projects, cosmetic formulations, decorative displays, and educational herb collections. Its delicate leaves and flower clusters make it suitable for blending into mixtures, infused preparations, and creative applications where natural colour, texture, and botanical authenticity are desired.

Storage: Store in a cool, dry, dark place in an airtight container. Refrigeration not required.
