Description: Marjoram is a tender perennial herb commonly grown as an annual in cooler climates, native to the Mediterranean region and widely cultivated in warm, sunny areas. The plant grows 30–60 cm tall with slender branching stems and small oval grey-green leaves covered with a soft, fine surface. It produces tiny pale pink to white flowers during the summer, and the leafy tops are harvested at peak growth to retain their natural colour, light texture, and botanical character.
The dried herb has fine leafy fragments with thin stems and a gentle, sweet-herb aroma typical of marjoram. Once dried, the leaves become slightly curled and the stems remain light and brittle, creating a uniform mix of leaf and stem pieces suitable for cut and sifted preparation while maintaining the identifiable appearance of the plant.
After harvesting, the aerial parts are cleaned to remove excess stems and foreign material. They are then dried under controlled low-temperature conditions to preserve natural colour and texture. Once fully dried, the herb is cut and sifted into even pieces and sorted to remove fines, resulting in a clean, free-flowing ingredient suitable for blending and storage.
Uses: Marjoram C/S is used in culinary recipes, seasoning blends, tea-style infusions, herbal and botanical blends, craft projects, cosmetic formulations, decorative displays, and educational herb collections. Its cut texture allows it to mix evenly into dry blends and infused preparations where leafy botanical appearance, mild aroma, and visual consistency are desired.
Storage: Store in a cool, dry, dark place in an airtight container. Refrigeration not required.
