Also Known As: Lungwort Herb, Dried Lungwort, Lungwort Leaves & Stems C/S, Pulmonaria officinalis C/S
Part Used: Aerial parts of Pulmonaria officinalis
Description: Lungwort is a perennial herb native to Europe and western Asia, typically growing 20–50 cm tall with hairy, oblong leaves and branching stems. The plant produces small, tubular flowers that range from pink to blue, appearing in clusters during spring. The aerial parts are harvested when fully developed to preserve their natural colour, texture, and botanical character.
The leaves and stems are soft with a slightly textured surface. Once dried, they retain a green to grey-green hue and identifiable leaf and stem fragments. The cut and sifted herb provides uniform pieces that maintain the natural appearance of the plant, suitable for blending, storage, and botanical applications.
After harvesting, the aerial parts are cleaned to remove debris and damaged material. They are then dried using controlled low-temperature methods to maintain colour, texture, and natural characteristics. Once fully dried, the herb is cut and sifted to remove fines and broken fragments, resulting in a clean, free-flowing botanical ingredient.
Uses: Lungwort C/S is used in tea-style infusions, herbal and botanical blends, culinary preparations, craft projects, cosmetic formulations, decorative displays, and educational herb collections. Its uniform cut pieces and natural texture make it ideal for blending into mixtures, infused preparations, and creative applications where botanical authenticity is desired.
Storage: Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight.
