Part Used: Peel of Citrus aurantiifolia
Description: Lime is a small evergreen tree native to Southeast Asia, typically growing 3–5 metres tall with glossy green leaves and small white blossoms. The tree produces round, green fruits with thin, aromatic peels that are harvested when fully mature to capture their natural colour, texture, and citrus character.
The fruit peel contains aromatic oil glands that release a bright citrus aroma when expressed. After harvesting, the peels retain their fresh appearance and natural structure, providing suitable material for essential oil extraction while preserving the identifiable botanical characteristics of the lime fruit.
Lime essential oil is obtained by cold pressing the fresh peels to extract the aromatic oil. The expressed oil is filtered to remove any plant residues, resulting in a clear, pale yellow to greenish oil that is suitable for blending, cosmetic formulations, and aromatic applications.
Uses: Lime Oil is used in cosmetic formulations, aromatherapy diffusers, personal care products, fragrance blends, craft projects, scented oils, and educational botanical collections. Its fresh citrus aroma makes it suitable for blending into perfumes, soaps, candles, and creative applications where a natural citrus scent is desired.
Storage: Store in a cool, dry place in a sealed container.
