Hindi Name: Mulethi Jadi Booti Extract

Also Known As: Licorice Root Extract, Glycyrrhiza Extract, Mulethi Extract

Part Used: Roots of Glycyrrhiza glabra

Description: Licorice is a perennial leguminous plant native to parts of Europe and Asia, typically growing 1–1.5 metres tall with slender, branching stems and compound green leaves. The plant develops long, fibrous underground roots that are harvested after several years of growth when they reach full size and firmness, allowing the natural colour and texture of the root to be retained.

The roots are thick, woody, and light brown on the exterior with a pale interior. Once dried, they retain their fibrous structure and are suitable for processing into botanical extracts. The natural appearance of the root material provides a consistent base for producing a uniform extract that reflects the plant’s botanical character.

After harvesting, the roots are cleaned to remove soil and extraneous material, then dried using controlled low-temperature methods. The dried roots are cut and milled before undergoing a botanical extraction process using food-grade solvents or water. The resulting liquid is filtered and concentrated to produce a clean, free-flowing licorice root botanical extract suitable for blending and formulation.

Uses: Licorice Root Botanical Extract is used in cosmetic formulations, flavouring applications, personal care products, craft projects, botanical blends, and educational herb collections. Its concentrated form allows it to be incorporated easily into liquid blends, creative preparations, and product formulations where the natural characteristics of licorice root are desired.

Storage: Store in a cool, dry, dark place in an airtight container. Refrigeration not required.
