Botanical Name: Hyssopus Officinalis

Origin: Germany

Common Name: Hyssop Herb Powder

English Name: Hyssop Powder

French Name: Poudre d’Hysope

Also Known As: Dried Hyssop Powder, Hyssop Leaf Powder, Hyssop Herb Powder, Hyssopus Powder

Part Used: Aerial parts (leaves and stems) of Hyssopus officinalis

Description: Hyssop is a perennial herb native to the Mediterranean region and widely cultivated in temperate areas. It typically grows 30–60cm tall with upright, woody stems and narrow, lance-shaped, dark green leaves. During the flowering season, it produces small tubular flowers in shades of blue to violet, forming clusters along the upper stems. The aerial parts are harvested at full growth to retain natural colour, texture, and identifiable botanical characteristics.

The leaves are firm but soft to the touch, growing opposite along slender, slightly woody stems. The stems are flexible at the tips and bushy at maturity, giving the plant a dense, structured appearance. Harvesting occurs during peak flowering to capture both leaves and tender stems. After drying, the material maintains its natural colour and texture, making it suitable for milling into a fine powder while retaining its botanical character.

After harvesting, the aerial parts are cleaned to remove dirt, debris, and excess stalks. The material is then dried using controlled low-temperature methods and milled into a uniform, fine powder. Any coarse fragments are removed during sieving to ensure a clean, free flowing powdered herb suitable for blending, storage, and various applications.

Uses: Hyssop Herb Powder is used in tea-style infusions, herbal and botanical blends, flavouring preparations, culinary recipes, craft projects, cosmetic formulations, decorative displays, and educational herb collections. Its fine texture allows it to blend easily while preserving the natural form and colour of the plant, making it ideal for infusions, mixtures, and creative applications where powdered form is preferred.

Storage: Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight.
