Description: Horse Chestnut is a deciduous tree native to the Balkan region of Europe and widely cultivated in temperate regions around the world. It typically grows 15–25 meters tall with a broad, rounded canopy. The plant produces large, palmately compound leaves with 5–7 leaflets and shows upright clusters of small, pale flowers in spring. Its young stems and bark have a slightly rough texture, and the tree develops large, smooth, brown seeds enclosed in spiny green husks during summer. The aerial parts are harvested when mature to capture their natural colour, texture, and botanical character.
The leaves and stems used for cut and sifted herb are collected during the active growing season when they are fully developed but still pliable. The material features visible leaf structure and stem fragments, making it identifiable even after processing. The texture and appearance of the harvested parts allow them to be used as a clean botanical ingredient for blending and decorative purposes.
After harvesting, the plant material is carefully cleaned to remove dirt, excess stalk, and debris. The leaves, stems, and bark are then dried using controlled low-temperature methods to preserve their natural colour and texture. Once dried, the herb is cut and sifted into uniform pieces, and any fines or broken fragments are removed, resulting in a free flowing, visually consistent botanical ingredient suitable for multiple applications.
Uses: Horse Chestnut C/S is used in tea-style infusions, herbal and botanical blends, flavouring preparations, culinary recipes, craft projects, cosmetic formulations, decorative herbal displays, and educational herb collections. Its identifiable leaf and stem pieces make it suitable for botanical mixtures, infused preparations, and creative applications where the natural form of the plant is desired.
