Description: Hops is a fast-growing perennial climbing plant native to Europe, Asia, and North America, capable of reaching 6–9 metres in height each growing season. It produces rough, twining stems with broad, lobed green leaves and forms cone-shaped female flowers known as hop cones during late summer. These cones are light green, papery in texture, and contain yellow glandular material that gives hops their distinctive aroma and appearance. The cones are harvested when fully developed and aromatic.
After harvesting, the hop cones are carefully cleaned to remove stems and field debris. They are then dried under controlled low-temperature conditions to reduce moisture while preserving their pale green colour, papery structure, and characteristic botanical aroma. The dried cones retain their recognizable cone shape and light, brittle texture.
Once dried, the hops are sorted to remove broken fragments and dust, resulting in a clean, uniform product with intact flower cones. This ensures consistent quality and visual appeal for blending, storage, and further applications.
Uses: Hops Flowers are used in tea-style infusions, herbal and botanical blends, beverage bases, flavouring preparations, craft projects, decorative herbal displays, cosmetic formulations, and educational herb collections. Their distinctive cone shape, pale green colour, and aromatic profile make them suitable for infusions, botanical blends, flavour development projects, and creative applications where intact hop cones are preferred for visual and functional purposes.
Storage: Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight.
