Origin: India
English Name: Guar Gum Powder
French Name: Poudre de Gomme de Guar
Also Known As: Guaran, Guar Flour, Guar Thickener, Cyamopsis Gum, Guar Seed Endosperm Powder

Description: Guar is an annual leguminous plant cultivated primarily in India and Pakistan, growing 1–2 metres tall with upright stems, trifoliate green leaves, and small pale purple to white flowers. The plant produces slender pods containing several small oval seeds, which mature during the warm season and are harvested once fully dry. These seeds are the source of guar gum powder.
After harvesting, the seeds are cleaned and mechanically processed to remove the outer husk and germ, leaving only the inner endosperm. This endosperm is dried and milled into a very fine, off-white to pale cream powder with a smooth, flour-like texture. The powder is then sifted to achieve uniform particle size and consistent quality.
The resulting guar gum powder is free flowing, highly uniform in appearance, and easy to blend into dry formulations. Its refined texture and light colour make it suitable for applications where consistency and smooth dispersion are important.
Uses: Guar Gum Powder is used in culinary applications as a thickening and binding agent in sauces, soups, dressings, ice creams, baked goods, and beverage mixes. It is also used in cosmetic formulations, lotions, creams, shampoos, soaps, craft projects, and formulation development where improved texture, stability, and uniform blending are desired.
Storage: Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight.
