Description: Panax ginseng is a slow-growing perennial plant native to East Asia, typically reaching 30–60 cm in height with a single upright stem topped by a whorl of compound leaves. Each leaf is divided into several oval leaflets with finely toothed edges, and the plant produces small greenish-white flowers followed by clusters of red berries during its growing season. The root develops over several years, forming a thick, branched structure that is valued for its dense texture, pale cream interior, and distinctive natural aroma.
The mature roots are firm, woody, and lightly fibrous, with a smooth outer skin and solid internal structure. Once harvested, the roots are trimmed and cut into small, uniform segments to create a cut-and-sifted format that is easy to handle and visually consistent. This form preserves the natural shape and surface texture of the root pieces while allowing for flexible use in blends, infusions, and culinary preparations where whole roots are not practical.
After cutting, the root pieces are carefully cleaned and dried using controlled low-temperature methods to maintain their colour, aroma, and structural integrity. The dried material is then sifted to remove fines, resulting in evenly sized pieces suitable for bulk use, storage, and further processing without additional grinding.
Uses: Panax Ginseng Root C/S is used in herbal infusions, flavouring broths and soups, beverage preparations, spice and herb blends, and culinary experimentation. It is also suitable for crafting applications, decorative botanical displays, educational herb collections, and formulation of custom dry blends where consistent root pieces are required for appearance, texture, and controlled flavour release.
Storage: Store in a cool, dry, dark place in an airtight container. Refrigeration not required.
