Description: Fo-Ti Root C/S is prepared from the mature roots of Fallopia multiflora, a perennial climbing vine native to China and cultivated in parts of East Asia. The plant produces long twining stems and heart-shaped green leaves, with small pale flowers appearing in late summer to autumn. Underground, it forms thick, irregularly shaped roots that are harvested when fully developed for consistent size, colour, and botanical quality.
The vine grows vigorously along fences, shrubs, and forest edges, thriving in warm, humid climates with well-drained soil. The roots have a dense, firm structure with a naturally dark outer skin and lighter interior, and harvesting is typically carried out in autumn when the plant has completed its active growth cycle, ensuring a robust and uniform root material.
After harvesting, the roots are washed thoroughly to remove soil and fibrous rootlets, then sliced into sections. They are dried using controlled low-temperature air-drying methods to reduce moisture while maintaining the natural brown to dark brown colouring and fibrous internal texture. Once dried, the root pieces are cut and sifted into uniform fragments, producing a clean, stable botanical ingredient suitable for a wide range of applications.
Uses: Fo-Ti Root C/S is used in tea-style infusions, herbal beverage blends, culinary preparations, botanical craft projects, decorative herb displays, educational herb kits, and creative applications where dried root material is valued for its texture, colour, and distinctive botanical appearance.
Storage: Store in a cool, dry, dark place in an airtight container. Refrigeration not required.
