Description: Its stem can take on either an angled or square shape when viewed in cross-section. Leaves emerge in opposite pairs and are shaped like ovals with pointed tips. These leaves possess short petioles (stalks) and exhibit distinct toothed margins. Occasionally, young leaves may exhibit a subtle hint of "purple" coloring.
