Botanic name: Cinnamomum verum

Country of origin: Sri Lanka

English Name: Cinnamon Bark Oil

French Name: Huile Essentielle d’Écorce de Cannelle

Hindi Name: Dalchini Tel

Also Known As: Ceylon Cinnamon Oil

Part Used: Dried inner bark of Cinnamomum verum

Description: Cinnamon Bark Oil is steam-distilled from the dried inner bark of Cinnamomum verum, an evergreen tree native to Sri Lanka and southern India. The tree typically grows between 10 and 15 metres tall, producing glossy green leaves and small yellow-green flowers in clusters. The inner bark is carefully harvested from mature branches and dried to preserve its rich reddish-brown colour and aromatic compounds before distillation.

The oil is extracted through steam distillation, producing a clear to pale amber liquid with a warm, sweet, and spicy aroma characteristic of true Ceylon Cinnamon. The process preserves the botanical identity of Cinnamomum verum while providing a concentrated, free-flowing oil suitable for blending and formulation.

The finished Cinnamon Bark Oil displays a light to medium amber colour and retains the rich, spicy aroma of the bark. Its liquid consistency allows for easy measuring and mixing, making it suitable for a variety of applications requiring concentrated botanical oils.

Uses: Cinnamon Bark Oil is commonly used in cosmetic formulations, perfumes, soaps, lotions, bath products, massage oils, and aromatherapy-style preparations. It is also suitable for candle making, diffuser blends, craft projects, and educational collections demonstrating oil extraction from aromatic barks. The liquid format supports precise portioning, smooth blending with carrier oils or other essential oils, and versatile use in both home and professional formulation environments, offering consistent quality and recognizable cinnamon characteristics.

Storage: Store in a cool, dry place in a sealed container.
