Production: Chicory root is the taproot of the chicory plant, which is harvested when the plant is mature. The root is then washed, dried, and cut into small pieces or roasted and ground into a fine powder for use.
Description: Chicory root has a long, cylindrical shape and can grow up to 30 centimeters in length. It has a hard, woody texture and is light brown in color.
Uses: Chicory root is used as a coffee substitute, as well as a natural sweetener and flavoring agent.
Storage: Store in a cool, dry, dark place in an airtight container. Refrigeration not required.
