Description: It thrives so abundantly in this region that some experts have deemed it a genuine native species. This assertion is primarily based on the historical use of what was long believed to be Chestnut timber in ancient constructions, such as the roofs of Westminster Hall and the Parliament House of Edinburgh. Yet, it is now established that Chestnut wood loses its durability after fifty years. Given the rapid growth of the Chestnut tree, it is evident that the beams in question could not have matured within fifty years. Consequently, it has been verified that they are crafted from Durmast Oak, which bears a striking resemblance to Chestnut in both grain and color.
Chestnut tree leaves appear in late spring before the flowers appear. Leaves have a dull appearance and prominent veins.
Storage: Store in a cool, dry, dark place in an airtight container. Refrigeration not required.
