Part Used: Dried fruit stems of Prunus species, cut and sifted
Description: Cherry Stems C/S consist of the dried stems collected from cherry fruits belonging to Prunus species, primarily Prunus avium and Prunus cerasus. Cherry trees are deciduous and typically grow between 5 and 10 meters in height, forming rounded canopies with smooth to lightly fissured bark. The trees produce oval to lance-shaped green leaves that emerge in spring, followed by clusters of white blossoms. After flowering, cherries develop on slender green stems that later harden as the fruit matures.
Once cherries are harvested, the stems are separated from the fruit and cleaned to remove residual pulp and natural field debris. The stems are then dried under controlled conditions to reduce moisture while maintaining their slender shape and light green to brownish tones. After drying, the material is cut into shorter segments and sifted to achieve a consistent size suitable for botanical use.
In cut and sifted form, cherry stems appear as thin, fibrous fragments with a smooth to slightly woody texture. Their lightweight structure and natural colour variation make them visually distinct and easy to blend with other dried botanicals. The uniform cut allows for even distribution in mixtures and enhances handling during creative or educational applications.
Uses: Cherry Stems C/S are used in botanical craft projects, decorative jar arrangements, resin art, potpourri-style blends, and educational herb kits. Their fine, linear form adds texture and contrast to mixed botanical displays and nature-inspired designs. They are also suitable for experimental culinary infusions, visual ingredient assortments, and creative formulations where dried plant stems are required for structure and appearance rather than flavour intensity.
Storage: Store in a cool, dry, dark place in an airtight container. Refrigeration not required.
