Description: Chaste Berry Whole consists of the dried fruits of Vitex agnus-castus, a deciduous shrub or small tree native to the Mediterranean region and parts of Western Asia. The plant typically grows between 2 and 5 meters in height and develops slender, branching stems with distinctive palmate leaves made up of narrow, lance-shaped leaflets. These leaves display a muted green to grey-green colour and are shed seasonally. In late spring to summer, the plant produces upright clusters of small violet to bluish-purple flowers, which later mature into round berries.
Once fully developed, the berries transition from green to deep brown or black and are harvested at maturity. The fruits are cleaned to remove stems, leaves, and natural field debris, then dried under controlled conditions to reduce moisture while preserving their firm structure and natural colour. The finished berries are small, hard, and spherical, with a smooth outer surface and a characteristic aromatic scent typical of dried botanical fruits.
In whole form, the berries retain their natural shape and density, making them easily identifiable and suitable for applications where intact plant material is preferred. Their uniform size and stable dried form allow for consistent handling, storage, and visual presentation in botanical collections and creative formulations.
Uses: Chaste Berry Whole is used in botanical craft projects, decorative jar displays, educational herb kits, and natural ingredient assortments where whole dried fruits are desired. It is suitable for spice-style applications, experimental culinary blends, and flavouring preparations that call for intact berries. The whole berries are also used in resin art, incense-style mixtures, and visual botanical displays, where their compact shape and dark natural colour add texture and contrast to creative compositions.
Storage: Store in a cool, dry, dark place in an airtight container. Refrigeration not required.
