Part Used: Dried fruit (berries) of Vitex agnus-castus, finely milled into powder
Description: Chaste Berry Powder is produced from the dried fruits of Vitex agnus-castus, a deciduous shrub or small tree native to the Mediterranean region and parts of Western Asia. The plant typically grows 2–5 meters tall and features slender branches with palmate leaves composed of narrow, pointed leaflets that are grey-green on the upper surface and lighter beneath. During the growing season, it produces upright spikes of small purple to bluish flowers, which later develop into round, dark brown to black berries when mature.
The berries are harvested once fully ripened, then cleaned to remove stems and natural field debris. After harvesting, the fruits are dried under controlled conditions to reduce moisture while preserving their natural colour and firm texture. Once fully dried, the berries are finely milled into a smooth, uniform powder with a warm brown tone and a naturally aromatic profile characteristic of the raw fruit.
The powdered form offers a consistent texture that reflects the concentrated plant material of the dried berries. Its fine grind allows for even blending and easy incorporation into formulations, while maintaining the natural appearance and sensory characteristics of Vitex agnus-castus fruit without additives or processing agents.
Uses: Chaste Berry Powder is used in botanical craft projects, natural ingredient blends, and educational herb collections where powdered fruit material is required. It is suitable for experimental culinary applications, spice-style blends, and flavouring formulations that utilize finely ground botanical ingredients. The powder is also used in resin art, natural dye experimentation, incense-style mixtures, and creative projects that benefit from a finely milled, aromatic plant-based material with consistent texture and colour.
Storage: Store in a cool, dry, dark place in an airtight container. Refrigeration not required.
