Description: The interior of the conk displays a soft, orange texture. Primarily parasitic, it is a rare occurrence to find this growth on birch trees. Many individuals view chaga as having potential medicinal properties. In traditional use, chaga is finely grated to create a powder, which is then brewed to produce a beverage resembling coffee or tea. Traditionally, chaga was grated into a fine powder and brewed as an herbal tea.
