Description: Celery Seeds are produced from the dried seeds of Apium graveolens, a biennial plant native to the Mediterranean region and cultivated widely in temperate climates. The plant grows 50–100 cm tall, with hollow stems, finely divided feathery leaves, and small clusters of white flowers that develop into mature seeds. The seeds are small, oval, and light brown to golden in colour, retaining a slightly aromatic, earthy appearance when dried.
The seeds have a naturally warm, mildly bitter aroma, characteristic of celery. In whole form, they maintain their natural structure and integrity, making them suitable for applications where visible seed material is preferred for visual appeal and texture.
Mature seeds are harvested once fully developed, carefully cleaned to remove stems and debris, and air dried or warm air dried to reduce moisture content. The dried seeds are then sorted and graded to ensure uniform size and quality. No additives or fillers are used, preserving the seeds’ natural colour, aroma, and botanical properties.
Uses: Celery Seeds are used in spice blends, pickling mixes, sauces, soups, dry rubs, and seasoning preparations. They are also incorporated into botanical craft projects, decorative herb displays, and educational kits. The seeds’ small size, uniform colour, and natural aroma make them ideal for creative and culinary applications where intact seed material is desired.
Storage: Store in a cool, dry, dark place in an airtight container. Refrigeration not required.
