Description: Green Cardamom Whole consists of the dried pods of Elettaria cardamomum, a perennial plant native to the tropical forests of southern India and widely cultivated in similar climates. The plant grows as tall leafy stems reaching 2–4 meters in height and produces clusters of aromatic pods close to the ground. The pods are small, oval, and light green to pale yellow in colour, with a smooth outer surface enclosing numerous tiny seeds.

The pods are harvested when fully developed and carefully dried to retain their natural colour, firm structure, and aromatic qualities. When kept whole, the pods maintain their intact form and visual appeal, making them suitable for applications where whole spices are preferred. The internal seeds remain protected within the pod, contributing to consistent aroma release during use.

Mature cardamom pods are hand-harvested and dried using controlled warm-air or sun-drying methods to reduce moisture while preserving pod structure and colour. After drying, the pods are cleaned and graded to remove damaged material and ensure uniform size and quality. This process results in stable, whole pods with consistent appearance and storage properties.

Uses: Green Cardamom Whole is used in culinary preparations such as desserts, baked goods, beverages, rice dishes, spice blends, and savoury recipes where whole pods are added for flavour and aroma.
