Part Used: Dried fruit pulp of Myrciaria dubia, finely milled

Description: Camu Camu Powder is produced from the dried fruit pulp of Myrciaria dubia, a small shrub native to the Amazon rainforest regions of South America. The plant grows along riverbanks and floodplains, typically reaching 3–5 meters in height, and produces small, round fruits with a thin reddish-purple skin. The fruit pulp is naturally pale pink to light beige when dried and has a distinctly tart, citrus-like flavour. Once milled, the powder has a fine, smooth texture suitable for a wide range of culinary and formulation uses.

Myrciaria dubia fruits develop in clusters and are harvested when mature. The fresh fruit contains soft pulp surrounding one to four seeds. When processed into powder form, the pulp retains its characteristic sharp flavour profile and light colour. The finely milled consistency allows the powder to blend evenly into dry mixtures and liquid-based preparations, offering versatility in both culinary and creative applications.

The fruits are harvested from mature shrubs, washed to remove natural debris, and pulped to separate the usable fruit material from seeds and skin. The pulp is then dried using controlled low-temperature or spray-drying methods to reduce moisture while maintaining its natural characteristics. After drying, the material is finely milled and sifted to achieve a uniform powder with consistent particle size and flow.

Uses: Camu Camu Powder is used in culinary preparations such as beverage mixes, smoothies, dessert blends, and flavoured powders where a bright, tart fruit note is desired. It is also incorporated into dry food formulations, confectionery mixes, and natural flavouring applications. In addition, the powder is suitable for botanical craft projects and educational ingredient kits where fruit-based powders are used for colour, texture, and flavour contribution.

Storage: Store in a cool, dry, dark place in an airtight container. Refrigeration not required.
