Description: Boswellia Powder is produced from the dried resin of Boswellia serrata, a tree native to arid and hilly regions of India. The resin naturally exudes from small incisions made in the bark and hardens over time. Once collected, the resin is cleaned to remove bark fragments and debris. The material is then finely milled to create a uniform powder that preserves the natural pale yellow to amber-brown colour, characteristic aroma, and resinous texture of the original exudate.
Boswellia serrata is a medium-sized tree that grows 5–8 meters tall, with greyish-brown papery bark and a branching crown. It produces resin intermittently throughout the growing season, and the hardened exudate varies in texture and colour depending on age and exposure. Milling transforms the brittle resin into a smooth powder while maintaining the visual and aromatic qualities of the raw material. The powder has a slightly granular texture when fresh and retains its natural resin scent, which can range from earthy to subtly citrusy.
The harvested resin undergoes an extended, controlled processing sequence. Initially, it is thoroughly cleaned to remove bark, dust, and other field debris. The resin is then dried under controlled conditions to reduce residual moisture without altering colour or aroma. Once sufficiently dried, it is mechanically milled into fine particles and passed through multiple sieving stages to ensure uniform size, free-flowing texture, and consistency. This process also helps separate larger fragments while preserving the natural characteristics of the resin. The resulting Boswellia Powder is a clean, plant-derived material that retains the natural integrity, aroma, and visual qualities of the tree exudate.
Uses: Boswellia Powder is used in incense blends, resin art, potpourri-style mixtures, aromatic sachets, decorative jar displays, and educational botanical kits. Its fine texture, natural resin aroma, and golden-brown hue make it ideal for layered sensory projects, creative craft formulations, and botanical arrangements. The powder can also be incorporated into displays highlighting natural resins, themed craft projects, or other aesthetic applications where authentic plant-derived material is desired.
Storage: Store in a cool, dry, dark place in an airtight container. Refrigeration not required.
