Description: A birch tree is characterized by its smooth, resinous bark, which can exhibit various colors and may be white. This bark is marked by horizontal pores known as lenticels and typically peels horizontally in thin sheets, particularly on young trees. In contrast, on older birch tree trunks, the bark becomes thicker and deeply furrowed, breaking into irregular plates. The leaves of the birch tree are typically egg-shaped or triangular in form and tend to come to a pointed tip. They feature toothed margins and are arranged alternately on the branchlets. These leaves are typically bright green and undergo a transformation, turning yellow in the autumn months.
