Description: Bergamot C/S is produced from the dried peel of Citrus bergamia, a citrus species cultivated primarily in Mediterranean regions. The fruit’s aromatic rind is collected when fully mature, cleaned to remove natural debris, and dried to preserve its colour and characteristic citrus scent. The dried peel is then cut into small, uniform pieces and sifted to remove excess dust, resulting in a clean botanical material suitable for culinary and craft applications.
Citrus bergamia fruits develop thick, textured rinds containing naturally aromatic oil glands. Once dried, the peel retains much of its original fragrance and displays shades of yellow to muted green depending on maturity. The cut-and-sifted form keeps the natural structure of the peel while making it convenient to use in blends, formulations, and decorative projects.
Prepared peel segments are washed, air-dried or warm-air dried to reduce moisture, and mechanically cut into consistent pieces.
