Botanic Name: Saraca Indica

Country of Orgin: India

Also Known As: Ashoka Bark Powder, Saraca indica Bark Powder, Ashoka Tree Powder

Part Used: Outer bark of Saraca indica, finely milled into powder

Description: Ashoka Tree Bark Powder is made from the outer bark of Saraca indica, a tree native to the Indian subcontinent and cultivated throughout tropical regions of South and Southeast Asia. The powder is recognized for its earthy brown colour, fine texture, and naturally woody aroma. Milling the bark into a uniform powder creates a smooth, cohesive material suitable for dry blending and formulation uses where a consistent particle size is preferred.

Production begins with the careful collection of mature bark from cultivated trees. The bark is cleaned to remove natural field material and then dried under controlled conditions to reduce moisture while retaining its natural colour and fibrous character. Once fully dried, the bark is mechanically milled into a fine powder and passed through a sieve to ensure uniformity. This process results in a stable, free-flowing powder derived entirely from the botanical bark without added ingredients.

Uses: Ashoka Tree Bark Powder is used in crafting, botanical art, incense blending, resin work, and educational herb projects.

Its fine texture makes it suitable for natural pigment-style applications, dry formulations, and craft mixes where a smooth botanical powder is required. The consistent particle size and natural colour make it well suited for creative and display-based projects that incorporate plant-derived powdered materials.

Storage: Store in a cool, dry, dark place in an airtight container. Refrigeration not required.
