Also known As: Activated Carbon

Country Of Origin: India

Description: Activated Charcoal (Hardwood Based) is produced from selected hardwood species known for their dense composition and stable carbon content. These trees grow in various temperate and tropical regions, and the processed material results in a fine black powder with the characteristic deep colour associated with carbonized plant matter.

The production process begins with converting the hardwood into charcoal through controlled heating in low-oxygen conditions. This step, known as carbonization, creates the initial porous structure within the wood. The charcoal is then activated by exposing it to high temperatures together with steam, which further opens the pores and increases the internal surface area. After activation, the material is cooled, cleaned, and finely milled to form a smooth, uniform powder. No fragrances, dyes, or additional ingredients are introduced during processing.

Activated Charcoal (Hardwood Based) is used in a variety of non-medical applications.

In culinary work, it functions as a natural black colouring ingredient for specialty baked goods, confectionery items, and beverages where a deep charcoal tone is desired. Its fine texture allows it to mix evenly into both dry and liquid formulations. In crafting, it can be incorporated into handmade papers, inks, and artistic projects that require a plant-derived black pigment.

Within cosmetic formulation, the powder is added to soaps, bath products, and clay-based blends to create visually striking dark colours. Its consistent appearance and plant-sourced origin make it suitable for a wide range of culinary, craft, and cosmetic uses.

Storage: In a cool, dry space, sealed against the elements as much as possible.
