Description: Saffron Spanish consist of carefully harvested stigmas from Crocus sativus, a perennial flowering plant in the Iridaceae family. Native to Southwest Asia but highly cultivated in Spain, the plant thrives in temperate regions with well-drained soils and full sunlight. Each flowering plant produces delicate purple blooms in autumn, each containing three vivid red stigmas that are meticulously collected for use.

The stigmas are hand-harvested during peak bloom to preserve their natural length, colour, and structural integrity. Each thread is slender, slightly curved, and deep red with orange-red tips, reflecting the plant’s vibrant floral characteristics. Collection ensures only intact stigmas are retained, maintaining the distinctive appearance, aroma, and visual quality of saffron.
