Part Used: Fruit bodies of Grifola frondosa
Description: Maitake is a perennial mushroom native to temperate regions of Japan, North America, and Europe. It grows in large, clustered fruit bodies at the base of hardwood trees, forming dense, layered, fan-shaped caps. The mushrooms are harvested when fully mature to retain their natural structure, colour, and botanical character.
The fruit bodies are firm and layered with a slightly textured surface. After drying, they maintain their natural brown-grey colour and distinctive frond-like shape. The dried mushrooms are then milled into a fine, uniform powder that preserves the identifiable characteristics of the fruit body while providing a convenient form for blending and storage.
After harvesting, the mushrooms are cleaned to remove debris, dirt, and extraneous material. They are dried using controlled low-temperature methods to maintain colour, texture, and structural integrity. Once dried, the mushrooms are ground and sieved to produce a clean, free-flowing powder suitable for multiple applications.
Uses: Maitake Mushroom Powder is used in culinary recipes, tea-style infusions, herbal and botanical blends, craft projects, cosmetic formulations, decorative displays, and educational herb collections. Its fine texture allows it to blend easily into dry mixes, infused preparations, and creative applications where natural mushroom character and botanical authenticity are desired.
Storage Powder will remain fresh if stored at room temperature or below.
