The plant typically grows between 40 and 80 centimetres tall, forming slender upright stems with narrow, lance-shaped green leaves arranged alternately along the stalk. During late spring through summer, small pale pink to light purple flowers appears along the upper stems, followed by elongated seed pods. Harvesting takes place during peak flowering when the leaves and blossoms are fully developed and visually vibrant.
