Description: Rosehips Powder is produced from the mature fruit of Rosa canina, a deciduous perennial shrub in the Rosaceae family. Native to Europe, Western Asia, and parts of North Africa, wild rose plants grow in hedgerows, forest edges, and open fields. The shrub produces arching, thorny stems with compound green leaves and fragrant pale pink to white flowers that bloom in late spring, followed by the formation of oval to round fruits known as rosehips, which ripen in late summer to autumn.
The rosehips are collected once fully matured, exhibiting a bright orange to red colour and firm, plump texture. Collection ensures that only intact, fully ripe fruits are harvested to maintain consistency in size, colour, and structure prior to processing. The fruits are gently cleaned to remove stems, seeds, and debris while retaining the outer skin and natural fruit integrity.
After cleaning, the rosehips are dried using controlled low-temperature or air-drying methods to stabilise moisture and preserve natural colour, aroma, and fibrous structure. Once dried, the fruits are finely milled into a smooth, free-flowing powder with a vibrant orange-red hue. The finished form of product maintains the natural characteristics of the rosehip fruit, including its slightly earthy-fruity aroma and granular yet fine texture.
The finished Rosehips Powder is visually consistent, lightweight, and easy to blend. Its fine texture offers a precise measurement and stable storage, making it suitable for a variety of applications while retaining the botanical identity of Rosa canina. The concentrated fruit form offers versatility where powdered rosehip material is desired.
Uses: Rosehips Powder is used in tea-style infusions, herbal blends, and beverage mixes for natural colour and flavour. It is suitable for inclusion in cosmetic and personal care formulations such as soaps, scrubs, bath products, and masks for texture and visual appeal. The powder is also employed in culinary applications, craft projects, decorative botanical displays, educational collections, and manufacturing processes that require finely milled, uniform fruit material with preserved natural characteristics.
Storage: Store in a cool, dry, dark place in an airtight container. Refrigeration not required.
