Description: Neem is a fast-growing evergreen or semi-evergreen tree native to the Indian subcontinent and widely cultivated across tropical and subtropical regions. The tree typically reaches 15–20 metres in height, with a straight trunk, spreading branches, and a dense, rounded canopy. Its leaves are pinnate, consisting of numerous narrow, lance-shaped leaflets with serrated edges and a deep green colour. Neem trees produce small white flowers in clusters and olive-like fruits, but the leaves are the primary harvested part for botanical use.
The leaves grow year-round in warm climates, with peak foliage development occurring during the active growing season. Fresh neem leaves are thin, firm, and slightly leathery, with a distinct natural bitterness and a subtle herbal aroma. The leaflets are smooth on the surface with clearly visible veins, giving them a recognizable botanical appearance. Leaves are harvested when mature and fully developed to ensure consistent size, colour, and texture.
After harvesting, the leaves are cleaned to remove stems, dust, and extraneous material. They are then dried under controlled low-temperature conditions to preserve their natural green colour and leaf structure. Once fully dried, the leaves are cut and sifted into uniform pieces, maintaining visible leaflet fragments while removing excess fines. This process results in a clean, free-flowing cut herb with consistent particle size suitable for blending and storage.
Neem trees thrive in a wide range of soil types, including sandy, loamy, and rocky soils, and are well adapted to dry conditions once established. Their durability and adaptability make neem one of the most widely cultivated trees in warm regions. The cut and sifted leaves retain their botanical identity and visual character, making them suitable for applications where recognizable leaf material is desired.
Uses: Neem Leaves C/S are used in botanical and herbal blends, tea-style infusions, craft and DIY projects, cosmetic and personal care formulations, natural plant-based preparations, decorative botanical displays, and educational herb collections. The cut and sifted form allows for even blending with other botanicals and easy handling in dry mixes. Their distinct appearance and texture make them suitable for visual displays, instructional use, and creative applications where identifiable leaf material and botanical authenticity are important.
Storage: Store in a cool, dry, dark place in an airtight container. Refrigeration not required.
