Description: Marshmallow is a perennial herb native to Europe and western Asia, growing 60–120 cm tall with soft, green, slightly lobed leaves and erect stems. The plant produces pale pink to white flowers in summer. Its thick, fibrous roots develop underground throughout the growing season and are harvested from mature plants to preserve their natural colour, density, and structural integrity.
The roots are firm with a light brown exterior and pale interior. After drying, they become hard and fibrous while retaining their natural grain and botanical character. The dried roots are then milled into a fine, uniform powder that preserves the appearance and texture of the original root while offering a convenient form for blending and storage.
After harvesting, the roots are cleaned thoroughly to remove soil and extraneous material.
