Description: Labrador Marsh Herb (Ledum palustre), commonly known as Labrador Tea, is a low-growing evergreen shrub native to boggy and marshy regions of Northern Europe, Asia, and North America. The plant typically grows 30–100 cm tall with slender woody stems and narrow, leathery green leaves that release a mild aroma when crushed. It produces small clusters of creamy-white flowers during the summer months, and the aerial parts are harvested at peak growth to retain natural colour, texture, and botanical character.
The leaves are elongated and slightly curved, with a smooth upper surface and fine hairs on the underside. Once dried, the leaves and tender stems retain their greenish to brownish hue and natural structure. The identifiable leaf shape and surface texture make the herb suitable for cutting and sifting into uniform pieces, providing a consistent botanical ingredient for blending and storage.
After harvesting, the aerial parts are cleaned to remove debris, dirt, and broken stems. They are then dried using controlled low-temperature methods to preserve colour and structure. Once fully dried, the plant material is cut and sifted to remove fines and broken fragments, resulting in a clean, free-flowing ingredient suitable for multiple applications.
Uses: Labrador Marsh Herb C/S is used in tea-style infusions, herbal and botanical blends, craft projects, cosmetic formulations, decorative displays, and educational herb collections. Its cut leaves and stems are suitable for blending into botanical mixtures and creative applications where the natural form and texture of the plant are desired.
Storage: Store in a cool, dry, dark place in an airtight container. Refrigeration not required.
