Description: Hawthorn (Crataegus oxyacantha) is a deciduous shrub or small tree native to Europe and parts of Asia, growing 5–10 metres tall with spreading branches, lobed green leaves, and clusters of small white to pink flowers during spring. The plant produces small, round berries that ripen from green to bright red in late summer to autumn. The berries are harvested at peak maturity to ensure optimal colour, size, and natural aroma.
After harvesting, the berries are carefully cleaned to remove stems, leaves, and debris. The fruit is then dried under controlled low-temperature conditions to preserve its natural red colour, firm texture, and characteristic aroma. Once fully dried, the berries are finely ground into a uniform powder while retaining their natural colour and mild fruity fragrance.
The powder is sifted to remove coarse particles and ensure consistent fineness and free-flowing texture. This produces a clean, smooth product that is easy to measure, store, and incorporate into a variety of culinary, herbal, and creative applications.
Uses: Hawthorn Berries Powder is used in tea-style infusions, herbal blends, powdered beverage mixes, culinary preparations, dry spice mixes, cosmetic formulations, craft projects, and decorative herbal displays. Its fine texture allows for even dispersion in beverages, baked goods, and herbal mixtures, providing consistent colour, aroma, and visual appeal in both culinary and botanical applications.
Storage: Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight.
