Description: Goji berry is a deciduous shrub native to regions of Asia, typically growing 1–3 metres tall with long, arching branches and narrow green leaves. The plant produces small purple flowers in summer followed by bright red to orange oval berries that ripen through late summer and autumn. These berries are thin-skinned with a soft interior containing numerous small seeds, giving them a distinctive appearance and texture once dried.
After harvest, the ripe berries are carefully dried, developing a wrinkled outer surface and a deep red to reddish-orange colour. In whole cut and sifted form, the berries appear as partial fruits or large pieces with visible skin and seed material, offering a natural look that reflects the original fruit structure. The dried pieces have a lightweight, slightly leathery texture that blends well with other dried fruits and botanicals.
Processing involves cleaning the berries to remove stems and debris, drying them under controlled conditions, and then cutting and sifting to achieve a consistent piece size. This method preserves the fruit’s colour and form while ensuring uniformity and cleanliness in the final botanical product.
Uses: Goji Berry Whole C/S is used in tea-style blends, dried fruit mixes, baking projects, granola and cereal blends, decorative jar displays, cosmetic formulations, and botanical craft work. The visible fruit pieces make it suitable for applications where natural colour, fruit texture, and identifiable berry material are desired in culinary preparations, dry blends, and creative formulations.
Storage: Store in a cool, dry place in a sealed container.
