Description: Frankincense Essential Oil is obtained from the resin of Boswellia trees, small to medium-sized evergreens native to arid regions of the Arabian Peninsula, northeastern Africa, and parts of India. These trees grow 2–8 metres tall with papery, peeling bark and clusters of small, compound leaves. During the dry season, shallow incisions in the bark allow milky resin to exude, which hardens into translucent tears. The resin is collected and distilled to produce the essential oil, capturing the aromatic compounds responsible for its characteristic warm, woody, and slightly spicy fragrance.
The resin undergoes careful steam distillation under controlled conditions, separating volatile aromatic compounds from the solid resin. This method preserves the oil’s colour, aroma, and clarity, resulting in a pale yellow to golden liquid with a rich, resinous fragrance. The essential oil retains the distinctive character of the Boswellia resin, including the subtle floral and citrus notes typical of high-quality frankincense.
The finished oil is filtered and stabilized to ensure purity and consistency. Its smooth, light viscosity and concentrated aroma make it suitable for blending, diffusing, or formulation into aromatic products. The oil’s natural fragrance reflects the full complexity of the resin while providing a versatile, easy-to-use botanical ingredient.
Uses: Frankincense Essential Oil is used in aromatherapy, perfumery, incense blends, massage oils, candle making, soap formulations, botanical craft projects, and creative applications where a pure, aromatic resin-derived essential oil is desired for fragrance, texture, and natural character.
Storage: Store in a cool, dry, dark place in an airtight container.
