Botanical Name: Inula Helenium

Origin: Europe

English Name: Elecampane Root Powder

French Name: Poudre de Racine d’Inula Helenium

Also Known As: Inula helenium Powder, Ground Elecampane Root

Part Used: Ground dried roots of Inula helenium

Description: Elecampane Root Powder is produced from the mature roots of Inula helenium, a perennial herb native to Europe and western Asia and cultivated in temperate regions. The plant forms thick, branching underground roots that are harvested when fully developed to ensure consistent colour, density, and botanical quality before further processing.

Once collected, the roots are thoroughly cleaned to remove soil and fibrous residues. They are then sliced and dried using controlled low-temperature air-drying methods to lower moisture levels while maintaining the natural pale yellow to tan colouring and fibrous internal structure of the root material.

After drying, the roots are finely milled into a uniform powder. The finished product is light tan to beige in colour with a smooth, free-flowing texture, allowing it to blend easily into dry formulations and ensuring consistent handling, measuring, and storage.

Uses: Elecampane Root Powder is used in tea-style infusions, herbal beverage blends, culinary flavouring, cosmetic formulations, botanical craft projects, educational herb kits, and natural dye work where finely ground root material is required for colour, texture, and botanical presentation.

Storage: Store in a cool, dry, dark place in an airtight container.
