Description: Carob Fruit C/S is prepared from the dried pods of Ceratonia siliqua, an evergreen tree native to the Mediterranean region. The carob tree is slow-growing and long-lived, typically reaching 10–15 meters in height, with a broad canopy and thick, leathery leaves. Its elongated pods develop after flowering and mature to a deep brown colour when fully ripe. These pods are naturally firm and dense, with a smooth outer surface and a fibrous interior.
In cut and sifted form, the dried carob pods appear as irregular brown fragments with a hard texture and visible pod structure. The pieces retain the natural characteristics of the fruit, including its dense composition and woody appearance. The uniform sizing achieved through cutting and sifting makes the material easy to handle and suitable for blends and displays that require consistent botanical pieces.
Ripe carob pods are harvested from the tree, cleaned to remove surface dust and natural debris, and dried to reduce moisture and stabilize the material. Once fully dried, the pods are mechanically cut into smaller sections and sifted to remove fine dust and achieve even sizing. This process results in clean, well-defined fruit pieces that reflect the natural form and structure of the original pods.
Uses: Carob Fruit C/S is used in culinary spice and flavouring blends, roasting applications, and specialty food preparations where dried fruit pieces are required. It is also suitable for botanical craft projects, decorative jar arrangements, resin art, educational plant collections, and display blends. The firm texture and distinctive pod fragments add visual interest and structure to creative and presentation-focused applications.
