Description: Boswellia serrata is a shrub-like tree indigenous to the Middle East, renowned for producing a resin commonly referred to as Indian frankincense. The dried resin, often in the form of "tears," is traditionally ignited over charcoal as incense. In the arid Indian mountains, Boswellia flourishes, developing into sizable trees adorned with branches. The sticky exudate or resin acquired by stripping the bark is widely recognized as frankincense or olibanum. Boswellia holds significant importance in Ayurveda and is extensively utilized within its practices.
