Part Used: Dried resin of Boswellia serrata, broken into small pieces
Description: Boswellia Pieces are produced from the dried resin of Boswellia serrata, a tree native to dry, hilly regions of India. The tree typically grows 5–8 meters tall, forming narrow, greyish-brown trunks with papery bark. Resin is naturally exuded from small incisions made in the bark and allowed to harden into brittle pieces. These hardened resin pieces are then collected, cleaned to remove bark fragments or debris, and sorted into uniform sizes suitable for botanical, decorative, and formulation applications.
Boswellia serrata produces irregular, semi-translucent resin pieces with a naturally aromatic fragrance. The material maintains its firm, brittle texture and distinctive earthy to slightly citrus aroma. The resin pieces vary in colour from pale yellow to amber brown, reflecting the natural qualities of the tree exudate, and are ideal for blending, visual displays, and creative use where natural plant material is desired.
The harvested resin is carefully separated from bark and impurities. Pieces are sorted manually or mechanically to ensure size uniformity while retaining natural irregularity for a traditional, raw appearance. No additives, fillers, or processing agents are used, resulting in a pure plant-based resin suitable for handling, blending, or decorative purposes.
Uses: Boswellia Pieces are used in resin art, natural incense blends, potpourri-style preparations, aromatic sachets, decorative jar displays, and educational botanical collections. Their natural aroma, varied colour, and firm texture make them suitable for craft, sensory, and aesthetic projects where authentic tree resin is desired. They can also be incorporated into layered botanical displays, resin casting projects, and themed craft arrangements highlighting natural plant materials.
Storage: Store in a cool, dry, dark place in an airtight container. Refrigeration not required.
