Botanical Name: Asparagus Adscendens
Country of Origin: India
Also Known As: White Musli, Asparagus adscendens Root Cut, Safed Musli (botanical material form)
Part Used: Dried roots of Asparagus adscendens, cut and sifted
Description: Asparagus adscendens (White Musli) C/S is produced from the dried roots of Asparagus adscendens, a species native to India and cultivated in various tropical and subtropical regions. The cut-and-sifted material is characterized by its pale cream to light beige colour, fibrous texture, and naturally mild earthy aroma. Once processed, the roots form small, irregular pieces that maintain much of their original structure, making the botanical easily identifiable in its dried form.
Production begins with the careful harvesting of mature roots, which are cleaned thoroughly to remove soil and natural field debris. The roots are then dried under controlled conditions to reduce moisture while preserving their natural colour and structural integrity. After drying, the roots are cut into uniform pieces and passed through a sifting process to remove dust and overly fine particles. This results in a clean, stable botanical ingredient composed entirely of dried root fragments.
Uses: White Musli C/S is used in crafting, botanical displays, potpourri-style blends, resin work, educational herb projects, and natural material collections.
Its recognisable root structure and light colour make it suitable for decorative applications, thematic botanical arrangements, and creative projects that incorporate identifiable plant pieces. Its stable form and natural appearance allow it to integrate well into artistic and display-based uses requiring cut botanical roots.
Storage: Store in a cool, dry, dark place in an airtight container. Refrigeration not required.
